I posted this photo on Instagram and people seemed to really like the idea, so I thought I’d just do a really quick post on it.
If you’re on Pinterest, I’d pin this for later. Just sayin…

I’ve had my 2nd set of gel nails for about 2 weeks now and needless to say, they’ve grown out. I wasn’t ready to remove the gel nails quite yet, so I gave them a second life with my favorite glitter nail polish! While I used this trick for gel nails… you can use this technique to quickly change the look of your nails (or toes) even when you’re wearing regular nail polish… although I can never get my regular polishes to wear long enough for my nails to grow that much! Just a thought.

How to: All I did was put some glitter polish at the base of my nails near the cuticles and finished with a top coat of Seche Vite to smooth everything out. You can do a gradient like I did, or cover the entire nail with the glitter.
With this little trick, you can justify spending the $$ for getting gel nails done at a salon… or even justify buying a kit to give yourself gel nails at home! Seriously such a quick and easy fix, and the best part is that you get another whole new look out of it.

Tip: You have to use a really dense glitter polish. I tried two Sally Hansen polishes and you can see that Gem Crush Big Money (pictured on right below) is clearly the winner.

I’m so excited that I can extend the wear of my gel nails another week or so with a brand new look! Thank you for reading and I hope you’re having a fabulous week!~

Normally, you remove the gel polish with either alcohol or acetone. Now that you have a totally different type on top, how do you remove the polish, since you have on two different types.

Put a coat of polish from the cuticle to about 2/3 down the nailbed. Let it dry. Then put on another coat that only goes from the cuticle to about 1/2 the nail. Done! The secret is to use glitter polish because it makes it a lot easier. Also, you don’t have to be precise! Hope this helps! Thanks for visiting. xoxo
