It’s become a routine. Every Sunday night, I relax with a facial mask. I don’t get much sleep over the weekends, so a mask is the perfect way to unwind and give my skin some extra TLC.
Lately, I’ve been really into sheet masks. They’re so easy to apply! Etude House, The Face Shop, Skin Food, Leaders Clinic, Qiora, are just a few Korean/Asian brands that manufactures sheet masks. There are tons of brands and masks you can choose from. Just depends on what you’re looking for. Collagen? Hydration? Whitening? Lifting? Calming? Whatever your skin needs, there’s a mask for it.
Here’s my current stash…

I typically purchase my masks at local Korean beauty stores, but you can also purchase them online at stores like PrettyandCute.com (they offer a TON of asian makeup and skincare options).
To apply a sheet mask, all you need to do is open the package, unfold the sheet, and lay on your face! 10-20 minutes later, you simply toss the sheet mask away and you’re ready for your night time skin regimen. There’s always too much product in the packet, so I rub the excess on my neck, hands and/or arms.
Tonight, I opted for a Vitamin C mask ($2.99) which should help brighten my tired/dull skin.

My favorite mask:
Masks by Leaders Clinic (about $5 each) are a favorite because these masks are super thick and adhere to the skin SO~ well. Notice (below) how the mask is like a second skin on my face? Amazing! It almost seems like the sheet has tiny quilted pillows that holds the product and sticks to your skin! I tried the collagen mask, but they make masks to address different skin care needs too.
(in case your interested.. my favorite non-sheet mask of all time is Bliss’ Rubberizing Mask, but that mask requires some additional steps)
At a higher price point… Qiora Spa Masks ($38 for a pack of 4 masks) are awesome! Each packet comes with 2 pieces, a top and bottom, which is designed to better fit your face. The gel (blue) side goes on your face, and the other side is covered in cotton making the application easy and clean. Your hands don’t get wet! I have sensitive skin, but I love that I can leave this on almost an hour and not have my skin get irritated at all! Super hydrating, soothing and smoothing.
Hope you had a great weekend!~ Until next time, stay pretty… inside and out.

Hi! I’m just trying to figure out the order. I cleanse, tone, put serum and moisturizer then use the sheet mask. Is this the correct order? Or serums after the mask?

Just super good quality and their PDF is very good for acne skin, atleast nice for me and I just tried it yesterday. In the morning I had little bumps which signify onsatrt of a pimple and I today the size has visibily diminished. Available in watsons as leaders and Guardian as medi heal.

December 31, 2012
Hello – momomango here! We already responded to Mary Ann back in Aug, but just in case anyone else was wondering, sometimes your packages will be dropped off in a nearby canada post office if there is no one home as they do not want to leave it outside the house in case of theft. They do leave you a slip to pick it up at the post office. Hope that helps!

hi i just bought a face mask from the face shop, do i have to use a cleanser before using a face mask?
PrettyGossip.com
July 31, 2012
Hi! Great question. Yes! You should always put on a mask onto a fresh and clean face. This will help your pores absorb the benefits of the mask! Thx for the question and I hope you’ll visit again soon! Xo

So, my cousin mailed me some Korean skin care items, including 7 cereals powder, and some bran/collagen face sheet masks. I think I understand the usage of the 7 cereals powder for cleansing and making masks, but as for the sheet mask, I wasn’t sure whether to use this before or after cleansing or whether to rinse after mask application. What do you think?
PrettyGossip.com
March 29, 2012
Hi! Great question.
1) Sheet masks, as with any masks, should be used on a clean face
2) Unlike a cereal mask, you don’t have to wash your face after a sheet mask. I typically just apply serum and/or moisturizer directly after I remove the sheet mask… or when I feel like the sheet mask let a residue, I’ll use my toner + cotton pad to lightly ‘cleanse’ my face.
I hope this helps you!~ Please visit again and ask more questions!~ xoxo

So I hope this doesn’t sound totally dumb, but I’m wondering, what is the difference between Korean skin care products and other skin care products?
PrettyGossip.com
March 19, 2012
No question is dumb!
In this post, I made it a point to call out the fact that the products were Korean, because almost all of them were Korean brands (except Qiora which is Japanese). I hope this answers your question?!? If you want more clarification, please email me!
