If you have straight hair like me, you probably get frustrated with bobby pins that constantly slide down your hair. You can always use 2 bobby pins and cross them like a “X” for extra hold… but sometimes you don’t feel like it, right? My solution?! Make my bobby pins “stick” to my hair!~
Here’s how:
After you spray the bobby pins, wait a couple of seconds to let them dry just enough to get them sticky… but don’t wait too long or they’ll completely dry and lose their stickiness. Happy pinning!~ (Speaking of pinning… I’m on Pinterest. If you’re on it too, please Pin this tutorial and tag me (@prettygossip)!)

Another tip…
You are using the bobby pin wrong! The “grippy” side is the side with all the bumps and made to hold onto your hair!
And don’t worry, I didn’t know that for the longest time either. lol

How long does the sticky effect last? Do I need to redo the hairspray after every use or will they sticky for a while?

Depends on the type of hairspray that you use, and how much spray you put on there. But the simple answer is that the more ‘build up’ of hairspray there is… the better it’ll be because it’ll be stickier! Thanks for visiting and commenting!~ xo

what a great idea! i’ve tried curved bobby pins but they still slip. what works for me is crossing bobby pins. i’ll have to try this too. how about residue though? does it leave the bobby pins sticky and un-reusable?

The hairspray doesn’t make the bobby pins too sticky where it’s not reusable. Also, if they do get too sticky… Just a little shampoo and water does wonders. Thanks for visiting and commenting. xoxo

Hope it works for you! ~ just make sure the bobby pins are relatively new so they have a strong hold to begin with… Then the spray will enhance it even more~ xo

Wow interesting idea.. but I rarely use bobby pins.. I’m not a hair person haha I always tie it up or just put it down. I think I spend the least time on my hair. Makeup first! lol

Have you tried curved bobby pins? They’re the best. They don’t slip and the shape fits your head perfectly
